Responsibilities

  • Handle complex work orders, mentor junior technicians, and lead preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs in a timely and professional manner; complete all service requests to Hawthorne standards.
  • Repair and restore vacant apartments to make-ready status per company standards.
  • Assist with pool maintenance and cleaning; complete preventative maintenance per company policy.
  • Perform daily building and common-area upkeep; maintain grounds free of litter, debris, and pet waste.
  • Keep the shop organized to facilitate quick supply inventory assessment.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to the maintenance team.
  • Promote positive public relations with residents, coworkers, vendors, and staff; display a friendly and courteous attitude.
  • Participate in an on-call emergency service rotation as scheduled; follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Complete special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in apartment maintenance or a skilled trade such as HVAC, plumbing, or electrical.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • EPA HVAC Certification.
  • CPO Certification.

Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory or lead technician experience strongly preferred.
