About the role

This is an Electro-Mechanical position supporting manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, performing detailed setups, maintaining mechanical components, and tracking replacement parts.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
  • Repair and maintain mechanical machine components in top operating condition
  • Apply advanced understanding of electrical principles (voltage, current, resistance)
  • Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
  • Troubleshoot PLC inputs/outputs and repair issues
  • Complete projects to add electrical circuits, controls, new equipment, and relocate machines
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including cylinders and components
  • Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance tasks
  • Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
  • Monitor and report spare parts usage; complete parts order forms
  • Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and collaborate with QA
  • Train Level I and II technicians in more complex tasks and skills
  • Adhere to Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures and safety policies
  • Perform standby assignments, off-hours work, and emergency overtime as required

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety, motor control circuits, and programmable drives
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (e.g., welding, basic machining)
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Willingness to attend training, including out-of-state sessions
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) experience
  • Basic PC skills (MS Windows)

Physical Demands

  • Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to hazardous conditions
  • Lift and move materials/equipment up to 90 pounds (heavier with proper equipment)
  • Regularly required to walk, use hands/fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear
  • Frequently required to stand, sit, climb, or balance for long periods
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Exposure to variable temperatures, chemicals, and rotating shifts

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, and moderate to loud noise
  • Exposure to airborne dust, powders, and fumes
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, goggles, steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant aprons)
