Maintenance Technician II (copy)

About the role

DIS-TRAN Steel is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join their team at the Pineville, LA plant. The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, and a background in hydraulic and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains production equipment as assigned
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and provides corrective action
• Disassembles and reassembles machines during maintenance work
• Starts machines and observes mechanical operation for efficiency
• Inspects and tests damaged machine parts, marking defects or advising supervisors
• Lubricates or applies adhesives to machines, machine parts, or equipment
• Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments according to production specifications
• Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair using specified tools
• Records production, repair, and maintenance information
• Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment
• Trains individuals in the Maintenance Technician I position
• Repairs tools and small engines
• Holds a working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance
• Contacts manufacturer tech support and relays information and issues on critical equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to interpret blueprints
• Ability to read a tape measure
• 2+ years of prior industrial maintenance experience
• Knowledge of 480/3 phase electrical systems
• Hydraulic and electrical background experience
• Communication skills in an industrial environment
• Experience with software, CNC, and PLC (considered a plus)
• Ability to repair tools and small engines
• Ability to train individuals in the Maintenance Technician I position
