About the role

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible to assists with installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and facility structures, including piping, ducting, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Preventive Maintenance Program for production and lab equipment; complete weekly tasks and log prior work as well as parts usage and inventory counts.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as tanks, piping, ovens, cranes, spray booths, electrical systems, pumps, motors, boilers, chillers and forklifts.
  • Assist with new equipment installation.
  • Repair and maintain facility structures (restrooms, offices, HVAC systems, entrances/exits).
  • Record and log gas, electric, and water meter readings; implement energy-saving measures.
  • Safely operate tools and equipment (e.g., saws, welding torches, lifts).
  • Weld steel using various welding methods.
  • Use testing instruments (volt/ohm meters, amp probes, HVAC/R gauges).
  • Contact suppliers for parts availability and pricing.
  • Maintain forklift and crane certifications.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors for specialized projects (e.g., concrete, roofing, welding).
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols; report discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems; knowledge of PLC controls/robotics is a plus.
  • Ability to read and write and speak English to interpret manuals; basic math skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Skilled in reading technical drawings and manuals; full process understanding.
  • High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years related experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals; strong math and reasoning skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Reliable attendance; flexible to work any shift, overtime, or weekends.
