About the Role
Keep operations running at peak performance by maintaining and repairing the equipment that powers our facility. As a Maintenance Mechanic II, you will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and repair or install equipment to ensure reliable, efficient production. Your work will help minimize downtime and support consistent operational flow. This role is ideal for a skilled, hands-on professional who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in equipment reliability, and is committed to supporting safe, high-performing operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks required for a Maintenance Mechanic II.
- Provide personal hand tools (see required tool list) and a storage box for safe job performance.
- Be available for emergency notification/communication during non-working hours; respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes.
- Maintain cleanliness in shop and surrounding areas by removing debris, liquids, oils, and dirt from work areas, benches, floors, and break rooms.
- Ensure a safe working environment by eliminating unsafe acts or conditions.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience.
- Strong reading, communication, math, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in at least nine of the following areas:
- Reading blueprints/schematics
- Cutting and welding (oxygen, acetylene, and aluminum) all types of metals
- Hydraulics
- Pumps
- Electrical wiring and motors
- Filter systems
- Pipe fitting/plumbing
- Operation of shop equipment
- Millwright
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Refrigeration systems
- Pneumatics
- Carpentry
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 2-year technical college (preferred).
- Certified electrician (preferred).
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Stand or move for 12 hours on wet, moist, dry, or greasy floors, including metal or plastic grating surfaces, with up to 4 hours in a single interval.
- Climb stairs, equipment, catwalks, and work from various ladders.
- Exposure to temperatures up to 110°F with ambient humidity, noise levels >110 dB, and light intensity of 100 foot-candles.
- Frequent bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping, varying by task.
- Lift and control weights up to 100 pounds.
- Maintain kneeling positions.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to chlorinated water (5 ppm), dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating/hydraulic oils, salt, and other chemicals found in poultry processing.
- Wear and use required protective and safety equipment.
