Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair at least two types of machine equipment to minimize downtime and unplanned breakdowns.
- Perform preventive maintenance work, including inspecting drives, motors, and belts; checking fluid levels; replacing filters and worn parts; and cleaning and lubricating machinery.
- Diagnose machine malfunctions, disassemble equipment, determine repair needs, estimate labor time, purchase or fabricate parts, and test repairs.
- Conduct safety inspections on equipment and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain and repair the facility, including utility, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and masonry systems.
- Assist with the installation of capital equipment and electrical wiring systems safely and competently.
- Maintain electronic asset management and maintenance record-keeping systems.
- Complete repair project plans and status reports as required.
- Perform painting, sheet metal work, and welding as needed.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly, complying with established 6S standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in manufacturing equipment repair.
- Full working knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of at least two types of machines, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems.
- Experience with EMaint maintenance work order system is preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to weld, fabricate, repair, and install equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills per work instructions and documents.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively as a team member.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift; use hands to handle tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
