Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance duties for a large galvanizing manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, overhead crane systems, and production machines using diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools; examine form and texture of parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools and electrical measurement tools.
  • Control downtime by performing routine preventive maintenance and monitoring production equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock and anticipating needed items.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, directed, requested, or needed.

Requirements

  • Basic safety understanding.
  • Experience with industrial production equipment maintenance.
  • Electrical knowledge.
  • Overhead crane operation skills.
  • Technical aptitude and ability.
  • Proficiency with power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and ability to work as a team player.
  • Regular and timely attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Capability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling materials.
  • Ability to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends.
  • Manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded approach.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods and observe information from all relevant sources.
