About the role
Since 1997, our factory has been a leading producer of the nation's cat litter supply. Located on Tidy Cat Road, our 40-acre plant site is seamlessly connected to a clay mine, enabling efficient mining, processing, packaging, and shipping. Operating around the clock, we mass produce conventional and clumping cat litter, supplying the mid-Atlantic region with nearly a third of a million tons annually. As a Maintenance Technician, you will ensure operation of industrial and packaging machinery by performing preventative and predictive maintenance tasks as assigned. Your role includes managing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting PLCs, and improving the functionality and safe working order of our manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks on industrial and packaging machinery.
- Troubleshoot PLCs and improve the functionality and safe working order of manufacturing equipment.
- Adhere to all safety policies and cooperate with regulatory, factory, and divisional safety standards/requirements.
- Identify and report all hazards immediately.
- Adhere to and cooperate with factory and divisional quality standards/requirements to ensure 0 defect and 0 waste without compromising safety or regulatory compliance.
- Perform all quality checks as required by position and/or product.
- Ensure understanding and abide by the Nestlé Quality Management System.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment OR a two-year technical degree completed.
Skills
- Mechanical: Knowledge of bearings, conveyors, sprockets, power transmissions, chains, basic pneumatics/hydraulic systems, and general knowledge of pump operations and rigging terminology/utilization.
- Electrical: Knowledge and understanding of Ohm’s law, series and parallel circuits, motor connections and power sources, AC/DC motors, and transformers. Ability to identify electrical components and their functions.
- Welding/Cutting: Knowledge and utilization of PPE and safety for tasks, techniques (stick/MIG), set up of equipment, basic gas cutting, proper grounding, and equipment maintenance.
- Lubrication: Knowledge and purpose of lubrication, identifying best types of lubrication for situations, collecting oil samples, and analyzing as needed.
Schedule
This position will work night shift (7pm-7am) on a rotating weekly schedule with every other weekend off.
Pay
Hourly pay starting at $34.16 with a Maintenance Progression Plan that provides for increasing wages based on knowledge/skill demonstration and performance reviews.
