Maintenance Technician - Berrien Homes

Location: Berrien Homes - Benton Harbor, MI

Pay

$22 per hour, paid weekly every Friday.

About the role

Responsible and accountable for providing maintenance at the properties, delivering customer service, and presenting the company in a professional manner at all times. Responsibilities

• Monitor maintenance expenses and ensure they are below budget
• Perform daily inspections of community grounds
• Complete turns (painting, cleaning, maintenance of all vacant units)
• Address all maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy
• Complete preventative maintenance activities
• Maintain landscaping, including bushes, trees, and lawn
• Perform snow removal of community sidewalks and log weather/snow removal efforts
• Maintain records of maintenance performed in all units and at the site
• Keep all KPG’s tools, equipment, and replacement parts in working condition
• Provide and maintain a personal set of tools
• Sweep, clean, and maintain all common areas of the community
• Supervise contractors working at the site
• Provide emergency resident support after office hours
• Maintain resident and apartment-specific preventative maintenance records
• Service and maintain all common amenities
• Conduct quarterly unit inspections
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience
• HVAC/EPA certification preferred

Skills

• Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and interpret basic instructions, simple correspondence, and present information one-on-one or in small groups
• Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide by 10s and 100s
• Reasoning Skills: Ability to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions with common-sense understanding; handle problems involving few variables in standardized situations
• Computer Skills: Beginner proficiency with MS Outlook and MS Word
