About the role

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all production equipment and machinery, as well as the repair, maintenance, and appearance of the facility. This role is based in Upland, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent attendance by reporting to scheduled shifts on time and working the entire shift.
  • Maintain a professional attitude toward coworkers and the company.
  • Clean assigned workstations.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance of production equipment and machinery, including troubleshooting, sourcing spare parts, and documenting maintenance activities.
  • Respond to production and facility emergencies to maintain production output.
  • Establish priorities based on available information, work processes, and production commitments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery as defined by procedures.
  • Follow established procedures to maintain lubrication levels, lubricate, and adjust production equipment.
  • Respond to safety emergencies requiring immediate attention.
  • Support production as requested, including screw and barrel cleanings, making water hoses, relocating equipment, and responding to oil and water spills.
  • Maintain and repair the facility, including drywall repair, small building projects, and plumbing fixture repair.
  • Perform all duties while ensuring a safe working environment for employees and communities.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Expectations

  • Develop skills to perform basic, repetitive, and manual activities in the job.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
  • Master all requirements of Maintenance Technician I to advance to Maintenance Technician II.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • 1-2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Specialized training in electricity—high and low voltage systems preferred.
  • Experience with machine control programmable controllers and ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Specialized training in hydraulics systems and components, with the ability to read hydraulic blueprints and schematics.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow specification sheets.
  • Basic mathematical skills to understand variation.
  • Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Light work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination.
  • Extended periods of bending, lifting, standing, and sitting.
  • Significant use of hands.
  • Frequently required to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required, including:
    • Protective eyewear
    • Hair net
    • Protective gowning (lab coat, hood)

Work Conditions

  • Climate-controlled environment in the summer months.

Pay

Rates starting at $28.00–$33.00/hour (based on experience). On Demand Pay: Access your pay as soon as you’ve earned it.

Schedule

1st shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm (with occasional overtime).
