Maintenance Technician
Tarkett is seeking an experienced and strategic Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Middlefield, Ohio Manufacturing Plant. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource supporting rubber flooring operations by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist with shop floor issues including breakdowns, new process development, continuous improvement, tooling changes, and related hydraulics, pneumatics, programming, and electrical problems.
- Troubleshoot controls issues using computers and supplier software.
- Identify and implement projects to improve processes, training, and operations.
- Maintain and update drawings when changes are made to equipment or programming.
- Assist in the development of maintenance team members and apprentices.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations; ensure the safety of yourself and others.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience and training.
- 3-5 years of plant or related field experience.
- Basic understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Strong knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to read ladder logic and schematics for troubleshooting.
- Ability to create and modify CAD drawings and schematics.
- Allen-Bradley PLC experience preferred; VFD and motion experience is a plus.
- Willingness to stay current on technology and drive continuous improvement.
- Compliance with safety standards, including Arc Flash and LOTO.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a well-kept work area.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
