Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time position in Americus, GA with a growing company. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing setting and be interested in opportunities to move to other departments and grow with our organization.

This role requires energy, focus, and drive, with the ability to work at a steady pace for 8-12 hours a day on your feet. Mechanical experience is preferred, and individuals with previous glass experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
• Perform simple machinist duties and mechanical skills, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous maintenance experience required.
• Must be punctual and possess a valid driver’s license with own transportation.
• Able to communicate with team members and maintain a positive attitude.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Must be able to push, pull, carry, lift, or move up to 50+ pounds.
• Able to stand/walk 8-12 hours on concrete surfaces.
• Ability to conduct basic problem-solving.
• Must withstand exposure to extreme heat or cold for inside and outside job tasks.
• Use of personal protective equipment (safety sleeves, gloves, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.) as required.
• Must read basic drawings and layouts, and read a tape measure down to the 16th.
• Must understand, read, and write the English language.

Schedule

Full-time position with shifts of 8-12 hours per day.
