Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate custodial staff to ensure efficient, thorough, and high-quality cleaning and maintenance across all facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
- Develop and implement schedules for regular and preventative maintenance tasks, including advanced cleaning, floor maintenance, and sanitation processes.
- Conduct routine and detailed inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and compliance with health standards.
- Coordinate and perform advanced maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and HVAC troubleshooting.
- Oversee groundskeeping projects to ensure lawns, gardens, walkways, and outdoor spaces are maintained to high aesthetic and functional standards.
- Manage inventory control of maintenance and custodial supplies, ordering materials in a timely manner to prevent operational disruptions.
- Lead emergency response actions related to facility maintenance, ensuring rapid resolution of issues such as leaks, power outages, or equipment failures.
- Train custodial and maintenance staff in the safe and effective operation of specialized maintenance equipment.
- Manage building security protocols, including oversight of locks, alarms, and access control systems to ensure facility security at all times.
- Coordinate logistics and facility arrangements for special events, meetings, and functions.
- Collaborate directly with the Director of Maintenance on strategic planning, budget management, and execution of large-scale maintenance projects.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and expenditures.
- Perform additional tasks consistent with senior-level responsibilities to enhance overall facility operations and management.
This role requires advanced verbal and written communication, often in stressful situations involving students or co-workers, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
Requirements
