Maintenance Technician at Riverwood Heights ($1k Signing Bonus)

About the role

This position will be part of the region-based rotating on-call schedule for after hour emergencies at Riverwood Heights Apartments. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the rotation for after-hour maintenance emergencies
  • Ensure the building complies with all applicable building codes, ordinances, pool safety, fire codes, and emergency evacuation regulations
  • Perform regularly scheduled inspections of common areas, fixtures, plumbing, appliances, and pools/hot tubs (if applicable)
  • Ensure preventative repairs are done on a regular basis
  • Replace recalled appliances promptly
  • Complete apartment turnovers within three days of vacancy
  • Communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager on turnover schedule
  • Avoid delays in apartment turnover by conducting pre & post move-out inspections
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with sustaining inventory of tools, supplies, and materials
  • Organize and maintain an orderly maintenance shop and storage areas
  • Be on-call for after-hour maintenance emergencies and respond immediately
  • Complete repairs involving electrical, plumbing, appliances, or general carpentry
  • Maintain the pool/spa (if applicable)
  • Respond to work orders within 24 hours of submission to ensure community member satisfaction
  • Maintain a high standard of community cleanliness and curb appeal
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as necessary
  • Interact with current and future community members in a professional, courteous, and non-discriminatory manner

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in multi-family maintenance
  • Own hand tools
  • General knowledge of various maintenance functions including groundskeeping, snow removal, painting, appliance repair, caulking, minor electrical, minor plumbing, pool maintenance (if applicable), HVAC, obtaining bids from vendors, and ordering inventory
  • Teamwork, good hygiene, ethical behavior, integrity, excellent customer service, and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, resolve conflicts, engage in cost/benefit analytical decision-making, and continuous professional development

Pay

  • Competitive hourly pay range of $25.00-25.00
  • Monthly phone allowance of $50.00

  • $1,000 signing bonus after 90-days of employment at Riverwood Heights.

Schedule

  • Tuesday - Saturday from 8:30am - 5:00pm
