Maintenance Technician

About the role

Pyramid Healthcare at Newport News is an inpatient residential treatment center serving adults with Substance Use Disorders. We are looking for a dedicated Full-Time Maintenance Technician to join our team and help maintain a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for our clients and staff.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician plays an important role in the daily operations of our facility, helping ensure the building and grounds are safe, secure, and well maintained. This hands-on position involves a variety of general maintenance duties, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, groundskeeping, and light janitorial tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry, building repairs, and routine maintenance.
• Conduct painting, basic electrical work, and plumbing repairs as qualified.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, fans, and lighting fixtures.
• Maintain interior and exterior spaces, including painting, decorating, and general upkeep.
• Help ensure the proper functioning of laundry equipment and other facility equipment.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, saws, drills, pipe cutters, and other maintenance equipment.
• Keep accurate records of time spent and materials used.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and risk-free facility environment.
• May oversee or assist an assigned helper when needed.
• Perform additional maintenance and facility-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a strong work ethic, basic knowledge of general building maintenance, and the ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently when appropriate.
• Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, or general facility maintenance is preferred.

Pay & Schedule

• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with rotating on-call responsibilities
• Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour
