Maintenance Technician

About the role

Our community is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties in and around the community grounds as assigned.
• Complete routine maintenance duties to service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment, and vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Fix wall and/or floor coverings; repair furniture and fixtures.
• Perform basic plumbing work and minor electrical repairs.
• Repair appliances; complete painting and refurbishing projects.
• Work with heating and air systems, refrigeration systems, carpet and hard surface maintenance, and “make ready” rooms as assigned.

Requirements

• One-year maintenance experience.
• General understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and code compliance.
• General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life, and safety regulations.
• Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of scheduled work hours and be on call if needed.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
