Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and:
  • ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management system standard
  • IATF 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards
• Support, foster, promote, and demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
• Maintain balance between customer, employee, and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
• Follow all OSHA and Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area (5S standards).
• Suggest and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase equipment efficiency.
• Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain all production equipment including CNC, Forging Presses, Shotblast, and Heat Treating Furnaces.
• Execute scheduled PM Tasks and document completion in the CMMS system.
• Record maintenance activities and repairs in the CMMS system.
• Provide detailed shift reports and communicate issues to incoming technicians and supervisors.
• Work closely with production operators, supervisors, and maintenance planners.
• Evaluate the condition of damaged mechanical equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement.
• Compare states of each item before and after damage, consider cost and feasibility of repairs in compliance with codes and regulations, and examine advantages of replacing equipment.
• Assess suitability of new equipment needed for installations and repairs.
• Provide technical support and services to engineers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
• 2-5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing plant preferred.

Skills

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and conveyors.
• Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and machine shop practices preferred.
• Ability to work in teams that include production, quality, supervisors, and engineering.
