Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and:
- ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management system standard
- IATF 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards
- Support, foster, promote, and demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
- Maintain balance between customer, employee, and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
- Follow all OSHA and Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area (5S standards).
- Suggest and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase equipment efficiency.
- Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain all production equipment including CNC, Forging Presses, Shotblast, and Heat Treating Furnaces.
- Execute scheduled PM Tasks and document completion in the CMMS system.
- Record maintenance activities and repairs in the CMMS system.
- Provide detailed shift reports and communicate issues to incoming technicians and supervisors.
- Work closely with production operators, supervisors, and maintenance planners.
- Evaluate the condition of damaged mechanical equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Compare states of each item before and after damage, consider cost and feasibility of repairs in compliance with codes and regulations, and examine advantages of replacing equipment.
- Assess suitability of new equipment needed for installations and repairs.
- Provide technical support and services to engineers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- 2-5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing plant preferred.
Skills
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and conveyors.
- Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and machine shop practices preferred.
- Ability to work in teams that include production, quality, supervisors, and engineering.
