Maintenance Technician

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Receive work orders, identify faulty equipment, and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work.
  • Complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades, calibrations, and retrofits.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Review production specifications, identify and report capacity restraints.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance for CNC grinders and Platit Coating machines.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 6 months industry related experience and/or training
  • Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but not required
  • 2+ years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment is required
  • Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics is required
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Ability to perform maintenance functions such as replacing spindles, ball screws, bearings, slides and other components of machine tools
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on capacity and customer demands
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments
  • High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs
  • Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing with some lifting, bending, and twisting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stoop, bend or kneel when required
