Duties/Responsibilities
- Receive work orders, identify faulty equipment, and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work.
- Complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades, calibrations, and retrofits.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Review production specifications, identify and report capacity restraints.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance for CNC grinders and Platit Coating machines.
Requirements
- Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 6 months industry related experience and/or training
- Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but not required
- 2+ years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment is required
- Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics is required
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability
- Ability to perform maintenance functions such as replacing spindles, ball screws, bearings, slides and other components of machine tools
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on capacity and customer demands
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems
- Demonstrated ability to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments
- High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs
- Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing with some lifting, bending, and twisting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stoop, bend or kneel when required
