About the role
Maintenance Technician – Green Bay, WI
Responsibilities
- Preventative and reactive maintenance of processing and packaging equipment
- Providing technical support to improve and optimize manufacturing operations and processes
- Scheduled to work 12-hour shifts on a 2, 2, 3 Schedule
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Plant operates 24/7 – additional hours and days may increase based on demand
- Pay: $36.14 per hour, $2.00 per hour for 3rd shift, $3.00 per hour for CARO certification completion
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience; ammonia refrigeration experience strongly preferred
- CARO (Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator) certification preferred but not required at time of hire; must obtain within 18 months as a condition of employment
- Knowledge of PSM/RMP, OSHA, and EPA regulations related to ammonia systems preferred
- Proficient in English
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, ammonia troubleshooting and repair of production equipment
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of PLC operation, electrical components and systems troubleshooting, including use of multimeter
- Basic shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, presses, etc.) preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Must be able to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
- Must be able to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
- Must be willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
- Must be willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
- Must be able to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
Skills
- Must promote and exhibit strong Food Safety and Quality practices
- Must promote and exhibit strong sustainability practices
- Must promote and exhibit strong housekeeping practices
- Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
- Must actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
- Must assist Autonomous Maintenance process in plant
- Must complete required documentation for maintenance activities and regulatory compliance
- Must support production by responding quickly to service calls and equipment failures
