Full-time position with some driver duties.
About the role
This position is responsible for executing maintenance requests by diagnosing problems and making repairs to maintain the physical condition and appearance of the community according to operating and safety standards. You will make a difference by not only adding years to residents' lives, but life to their years.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair problems in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, water features (pools, spas, etc.), and waste management systems.
- Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating and equipment/supply standards in a safe and timely manner.
- Perform turn-key work to ensure vacant apartment homes are rent-ready in a timely manner.
- Maintain customer service standards by responding to resident requests, minimizing/resolving problems and complaints, and following through to ensure issues are resolved.
- Assist with emergency situations by following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Promote safe work practices amongst the community team and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, and company standards.
- Drive company vehicle from community to social and other various destinations as requested.
- May supervise the work of outside vendors or contractors.
- Occasional weekend work for special events, snowstorms, or maintenance emergencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- Must be age 18 or older.
- At least one year of experience in property management maintenance.
- Valid driver's license.
- Handyman skills.
Skills
- Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
- Ability to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment such as hand tools, pressure washers, blowers, paint equipment, pool chemicals, ice removal equipment, ladders, landscaping equipment, sanders, and safety equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
- Ability to be on-call as required by work schedule and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to multi-task competing priorities and perform tasks accurately in a fast-paced working environment.
- Perform basic arithmetic skills such as measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to do basic calculations and analysis.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
