About the role
Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are hiring an experienced Full-Time Maintenance Technician in Pittsburgh, PA to maintain residential homes, facilities, and vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Develop a schedule of basic maintenance tasks
- Complete required maintenance tasks in a timely manner
- Ensure repairs are made timely in a way that is safe and in compliance with local laws and regulations
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and structural components including appliances, fans, lights, flooring, carpets, paneling, doors, etc.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks including painting, spackling, and basic electrical or plumbing work
- Advise management when an outside contractor may be necessary
- Review contractor estimates to ensure they accurately reflect the required repairs and reasonable job costs
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
- Cooperate with license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with three years of maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
- Ability to work safely with hands and power tools
- Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing

Pay
Starting pay is $20.00 per hour.
