About the role

As a Maintenance Technician at RiverPointe Apartments, you will address a variety of apartment and property maintenance duties under the direction of the maintenance supervisor and/or property manager. Your role is key to maintaining high standards in customer service and curb appeal for the property.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance as dictated by state guidelines.
• Handle general carpentry duties including wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
• Conduct proactive preventative maintenance such as siding, painting, lighting, sprinkler systems, pools, golf carts, and elevators.
• Maintain the work order system by ensuring all orders are completed promptly to company standards and resident satisfaction.
• Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to uphold safety and cleanliness standards, identifying maintenance or repair needs.
• Assist with property emergencies, including snow removal and other inclement weather situations, fires, and floods.
• Communicate promptly with maintenance leadership regarding all property maintenance issues.
• Observe and promote safety and risk management in compliance with local, federal, state, and company regulations.
• Participate in emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance assignments, adhering to response times and addressing issues appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, interacting courteously and professionally with residents and potential residents.
• Foster positive, collaborative relationships with residents, other properties, and associated agencies.
• Adhere to all components of the company risk management program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience in property management or a directly related field.
• General maintenance and carpentry skills.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Proficiency with general office equipment (telephone, fax, printer, copier, key track system).
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to multitask and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Capability to handle and defuse situations involving difficult or angry individuals.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Professional appearance and compliance with uniform policy.
• Adherence to all safety requirements.
• Completion of Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity, and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment.
