Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift Weekday (Sunday - Thursday)
Starting wage: $32.78 - 37.73/hr (based on Tech Level).

Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:30am
Responsibilities
- Work respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production, and support of products and goals on a daily basis.
- Practice integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement, and positive interactions with all team members and visitors.
- Actively participate in Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects or tasks, and modification programs as needed with prior approval.
- Actively participate in department/shift/team meetings and be involved with improvement/resolutions and follow-up.
- Maintain the highest standard of safety for all functions and ensure compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
- Perform daily inspection of all required PPE, including slip-resistant/steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, shields, and aprons.
- Successfully acquire and maintain Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machinery and safely perform all functions in accordance with OSHA and company requirements.
- Perform daily inspection of power equipment with proper documentation.
- Complete Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), correct issues when identified, and participate in problem-solving.
- Lead and promote a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility.
- Complete Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), correct issues when identified, and participate in problem-solving.
- Ensure compliance with quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, OSHA, and other support programs.
- Review, understand, and comply with all applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI).
- Communicate any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality, and legality to management or the confidential hotline if anonymity is necessary.
Maintenance Tech I
- Have own tools for daily maintenance tasks.
- Work varied shifts for training.
- Work from a ladder safely and in small spaces.
- Change drive belts, timing belts, and chains.
- Able to use basic shop tools.
- Attempt to identify potential downtime situations.
- Lubricate machinery with the correct lubricant.
- Maintain company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with 5's, HACCP, and OSHA standards.
- Paint and repair any surface in or around the building and grounds.
- Capable of performing functional tasks of prerequisite Maintenance Tech level(s).
- Complete all daily paperwork and understand its importance.
- Provide maintenance support to packaging and processing equipment.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing components and fittings.
- Basic welding.
- Change filters and oils in plants.
- Rebuild product pump per sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain water towers, test water, and clean towers.
- Identify and replace bearings.
- Replace electric motors (single or 3 phase).
- Set up packaging equipment.
- Perform water tests, pH tests, total hardness, and conductivity tests.
- Maintain, clean, and inspect HVAC units in the plants.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
Maintenance Tech II
- Capable of performing functional tasks of prerequisite Maintenance Tech level(s).
- Set up and use plasma cutter properly and safely.
- Set up and use Lathe.
- Set up and use Vertical Mill.
- Perform boiler tests, clean, and repair boilers.
- Have a basic understanding of and assist in refrigeration.
- Weld with Tig, Mig, Stick welders on mild steel and stainless.
- Repair and troubleshoot mechanical problems on lifts.
- Read P&ID.
- Maintain, repair, track, and adjust conveyor belts.
- Perform monthly sprinkler tests.
- Wire and troubleshoot a start/stop circuit.
- Attend tool time meetings.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
Maintenance Tech III
- Capable of performing functional tasks of prerequisite Maintenance Tech level(s).
- Able to go online with Compact, Control, or Micrologix serial and ethernet.
- Navigate and have a basic understanding of PLC programs.
- Replace programs for all different types of drives and able to use the HMI.
- Weld all types of metals with all types of welders and weld aluminum.
- Maintain the NH3 refrigeration system compressor.
- Maintain the NH3 refrigeration system condenser.
- Maintain the NH3 refrigeration system evaps and valve stations.
- Maintain the NH3 refrigeration system Hansen Auto Purger.
- Maintain the NH3 refrigeration system tanks and pumps.
- Have a good understanding of ammonia refrigeration and be able to start up.
- Maintain, operate, set up, and troubleshoot KHS baggers.
- Maintain, operate, set up, and troubleshoot Ishida Scales.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a team with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) and work well with team members, management, customers, and vendors.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, ability to properly use/operate accurate tools, and good math skills.
- Ability to read and interpret written and verbal directions while working in a safe, effective, and productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required; Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred.
Working Conditions
- Works in a manufacturing environment with regular requirements to speak, read, comprehend, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend.
- Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances and lift up to 75 pounds repetitively.
- Standing required for up to 12-hour shifts with regular breaks.
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.
- Noise level in the plant is loud.
- SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed shoes, earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, and beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required per company GMP and Safety standards.
- Condition of PPE must be inspected daily and replaced when no longer providing optimal protection.
- If facial hair exists, it must be trimmed to allow proper wear of an ammonia respirator mask.
