Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair problems on plant facilities and production equipment of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic in nature.
- Assist in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, perform scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required.
- Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion.
- Remain current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required.
- Complete all work in accordance with IOSHA, NEC, JIC and IDNR standards and regulations.
- Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software.
- Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory.
- Work in a safe, quality minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines and to attain production priorities as scheduled.
- Attend daily pre-shift meetings and carry out assigned work loads as directed by shift/area leaders.
- Communicate with maintenance manager and maintenance area/shift leaders, and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required.
- Work with vendors and/or contractors, displaying company values of honesty and integrity.
- Work with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
- May be required to adjust shifts as necessary.
Qualifications
- Able to lift up to 75lbs.
- Walking, bending, kneeling and standing frequently.
- Able to use the step ladder and work in elevated heights.
Education And/or Experience
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems.
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to exhibit high integrity and honesty.
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements and business correspondences and effectively present information to various groups.
- Fabrication and mechanical skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain fork truck certification.
