About the role

To support our growth, we are looking for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for servicing and maintaining our electro-mechanical equipment, including Daniels’ robotic washline, autoclaves, boilers, and various other equipment to support site operations both locally and regionally. This role will oversee the daily cleaning and upkeep of the Sturtevant facility by direct leadership of the custodial employee.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Engineers start up, regulate, repair, and shut down equipment.
  • Monitor meters, gauges, and computerized controls to ensure that equipment operates safely and within established limits.
  • Use sophisticated electrical and electronic test equipment to service, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including completely overhauling or replacing defective valves, gaskets, or bearings.
  • Lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and remove soot and corrosion.
  • Daily maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service, and repairs.
  • Communicate with the Service and Engineering team to arrange spare parts, travel schedules and support.
  • Assemble, align, and install equipment and machine upgrades as necessary while adhering to timeline and budget.
  • Interface with cross functional work teams such as plant operations, global operations, and suppliers.
  • Communicate with Plant Managers to arrange downtime to complete maintenance activities.
  • Report each week of tasks completed and still to be completed.
  • Provide remote service assistance to plants with issues, getting them back in production as quickly as possible.
  • Maintain Washsmart inventory at each Daniels location in conjunction with individual plant management to ensure plants are stocked effectively.

Requirements

  • Mechanical experience in mechanical assemblies and production equipment and robotics.
  • Welding experience with basic repair work.
  • Electrical ability to identify and repair electrical issues and communicate fault conditions.
  • PLC ability to troubleshoot PLC controlled machines, with telephone support.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours.
