Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift ($6000 Sign On Bonus)
About the role
To support our growth, we are looking for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for servicing and maintaining our electro-mechanical equipment, including Daniels’ robotic washline, autoclaves, boilers, and various other equipment to support site operations both locally and regionally. This role will oversee the daily cleaning and upkeep of the Sturtevant facility by direct leadership of the custodial employee. Maintenance Engineers start up, regulate, repair, and shut down equipment. They monitor meters, gauges, and computerized controls to ensure that equipment operates safely and within established limits. They use sophisticated electrical and electronic test equipment to service, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Maintenance engineers also perform routine maintenance. They may completely overhaul or replace defective valves, gaskets, or bearings. In addition, they lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and remove soot and corrosion.
Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance of equipment
- Perform hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service, and repairs
- Communicate with the Service and Engineering team to arrange spare parts, travel schedules and support
- Assemble, align, and install equipment and machine upgrades as necessary while adhering to timeline and budget
- Interface with cross‑functional work teams such as plant operations, global operations, and suppliers
- Communicate with Plant Managers to arrange downtime to complete maintenance activities
- Report each week on tasks completed and still to be completed
- Provide remote service assistance to plants with issues to get them back in production as quickly as possible
- Maintain Washsmart inventory at each Daniels location in conjunction with individual plant management to ensure plants are stocked effectively
Requirements
- Mechanical experience in mechanical assemblies and production equipment & robotics
- Welding experience with basic repair work
- Electrical ability to identify and repair electrical issues and communicate fault conditions
- PLC ability to troubleshoot PLC‑controlled machines, with telephone support
- Ability to work 3rd shift hours
Skills
Mechanical, welding, electrical, PLC troubleshooting, and shift flexibility.
But we might be duplicating. Perhaps better to combine Requirements and Skills into one section "Qualifications". But instruction: prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones. Could combine Requirements and Skills into "Qualifications". However we have separate lists for requirements and skills; but we can merge. Let's think: The posting has "What we are looking for" list (mechanical, welding, electrical, PLC, ability to work 3rd shift). That's both requirements and skills. So we can have a single section "Qualifications" with that list. Thus sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Qualifications, Benefits, Schedule. We need to include Benefits section with the bullet points from "Why work for us". Also include mission-driven etc maybe as part of Benefits? But they are benefits/value proposition. We'll include them as Benefits. Schedule: include 3rd shift hours and full-time 40 hours per week. Now we need to ensure we don't include filler like "Job Stability – As an essential service to healthcare, Daniels Health is non-seasonal and recession-proof" that's a benefit; keep. Now we need to remove duplicated lines: The "Interface with cross functional work teams such as plant operations, global operations, and suppliers" appears twice; we should keep only one. Also "Communicating with the Service and Engineering team to arrange spare parts, travel schedules and support" appears once; fine. Now we need to ensure we preserve all substantive info: The description about overseeing daily cleaning and upkeep of Sturtevant facility by direct leadership of custodial employee; we included that in About the role. Now we need to check for any other substantive info: "Maintenance Engineers start up, regulate, repair, and shut down equipment." etc included. Now "What you will do" list we captured. Now "What we are looking for" list captured. Now "Why work for us" list captured. Now "Who are we?" description: maybe we could include as About the company but not required; but it's substantive about the company. Could be included in About the role? Might be better as a separate section "About the company". However instruction: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. Could incorporate into About the role or maybe omit as it's not directly about the role but still substantive. The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we should keep the "Who are we?" description. Where to put? Could be a section "About the company". But we have no heading for that in allowed list; allowed headings are About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We cannot add other headings. So we must fold that info into one of those allowed headings. Probably About the role can include company description as part of role context. That seems acceptable. Thus we can add a paragraph after the initial role description about who we are. Now we need to ensure we don't include boilerplate like EEO etc. Remove those lines. Now check for any other substantive: "Daniels Health conducts background checks and drug testing as part of the post‑offer hiring process. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process..." This is likely legal/boilerplate; remove. Now "If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us." remove. Now "Apply today and take the next step in your career..." remove. Now "If you're looking for a stable, mission-driven role where your leadership makes a real impact, we’d love to hear from you." remove as it's call to action. Now "At Daniels Health, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, innovation, and people." Could keep as part of Benefits or About the role. It's a value statement; maybe keep in Benefits section as part of mission-driven work? But we already have Mission-Driven Work bullet. Could keep as separate sentence in Benefits. Now we need to output only HTML fragment. Let's craft final HTML:About the role
