Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

About the Role

Supports production operations by ensuring the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment. In this hands-on role, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and repair production machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Schedule: 2nd Shift - Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Maintain company-owned machinery and equipment in proper working order
• Perform on-call emergency repairs
• Take control of breakdowns and execute a plan of continued improvement for machine safety and general housekeeping
• Work with crews to complete all preventative maintenance
• Collaborate with machine operators to troubleshoot and determine the root cause of mechanical issues
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively
• Work with the Maintenance Manager to resolve potential safety hazards
• Maintain organization and inventory of the maintenance shop and tools
• Duties may vary depending on location

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
• Electrical certification (preferred)
• Experience in the corrugated packaging industry (a plus)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery
• Ability to use shop tools and equipment (e.g., drill press, shop grinders, welders, oxy-acetylene torch)
• Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
• Fully computer literate with Microsoft environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, and occasionally high or precarious places
• Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
