About the Role

Responsible for inspection, installation, and repair of machines used for production and within the tool room and maintenance machining areas. Build and re-build equipment for various manufacturing needs, including material handling/conveyor systems, part removal systems, mill drives, and press bases.

Responsibilities

  • Follow specified maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production machinery and tools.
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment (e.g., mills, presses, conveyors).
  • Safely operate the following equipment:
    • Hand tools
    • Hand and surface grinders
    • Wheel puller
    • Torches
    • Pipe threader
    • Hydraulic jacks
    • Welders
    • Scissor lift
    • Lathe
    • Forklift
    • Milling machine
    • Drill presses
  • Work safely, maintain constant attention to safety concerns, and communicate hazards to leaders to limit unsafe practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and provide input on updates to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Complete and manage work orders via the Plex system.
  • Engage with outside resources as needed to keep production running.
  • Proactively participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Help develop specific maintenance and repair procedures for production equipment and tools.
  • Provide direction and coaching to less experienced team members and mentor apprentices as requested.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of equipment and systems, including press inspections and interpreting drawings.
  • Perform additional functions as directed by the supervisor.
