About the Role
Responsible for inspection, installation, and repair of machines used for production and within the tool room and maintenance machining areas. Build and re-build equipment for various manufacturing needs, including material handling/conveyor systems, part removal systems, mill drives, and press bases.
Responsibilities
- Follow specified maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production machinery and tools.
- Troubleshoot, isolate, and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment (e.g., mills, presses, conveyors).
- Safely operate the following equipment:
- Hand tools
- Hand and surface grinders
- Wheel puller
- Torches
- Pipe threader
- Hydraulic jacks
- Welders
- Scissor lift
- Lathe
- Forklift
- Milling machine
- Drill presses
- Work safely, maintain constant attention to safety concerns, and communicate hazards to leaders to limit unsafe practices.
- Perform preventive maintenance and provide input on updates to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Complete and manage work orders via the Plex system.
- Engage with outside resources as needed to keep production running.
- Proactively participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
- Help develop specific maintenance and repair procedures for production equipment and tools.
- Provide direction and coaching to less experienced team members and mentor apprentices as requested.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of equipment and systems, including press inspections and interpreting drawings.
- Perform additional functions as directed by the supervisor.
