About the role

This non-supervisory position, located in Delavan, Wisconsin, will oversee the performance and maintenance of Continental Plastic production machinery to drive profitability and achieve organizational objectives. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule (5:00 AM–3:00 PM) for 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform varied duties to assemble, clean, install, maintain, and troubleshoot production machines and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and mechanical equipment by completing scheduled, unscheduled/emergency, and routine preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, and other production machines using diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Use root cause analyses to identify sources of problems on inoperative machines/equipment by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for irregular noises, conducting visual inspections, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Maintain a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery, noting any irregularities.
  • Prepare and submit mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and entering relevant information and trends in the maintenance tracking program.

Requirements

  • Education, training, and experience equivalent to a high school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of directly related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Coursework or experience in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Fluency in speaking and writing English, with a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing maintenance processes, local building codes, government regulations, agency rules, and applicable safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Must have or be able to attain forklift licensure.
  • Ability to build positive team relationships and achieve outcome-oriented objectives.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN Enterprise) with a holistic viewpoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
