Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is a multi-skilled, multi-craft technician who works under limited supervision, using independent judgment to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or conducting other predictive maintenance actions.
• Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines corrective actions, referencing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed.
• Repairs machines, equipment, or building systems using precision measuring instruments or electrical/electronic testing devices.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, including transformers, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Repairs machines or devices by accessing and removing defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
• Provides support for die maintenance and troubleshooting of roll-forming equipment.
• Installs, programs, and repairs automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers.
• Sets up and operates machine tools (e.g., lathe, grinder, drill, milling machine) to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
• Operates cutting torches or welding equipment.
• Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Performs housekeeping, 5-S, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level.
• 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance; or a combination of technical school degree, craft certification, or completion of maintenance skills/craft courses and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or Technical school degree (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist, and/or related fields (preferred).
• Working knowledge of drawing software such as AutoCAD (preferred).
• Proficient in reading blueprints, designing, and fabricating parts (preferred).
• Experience in diagnostics and repair of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or robotics (preferred).

Pay

$34.44–38.05 per hour, depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications.
