About the role
Supporting operations, this role will report directly to the Site Technical Training FLL and have a tactical focus on the day-to-day implementation and adherence to the site training process. They provide on-the-job training instruction and ensure new team members are provided instruction with themselves or a qualified trainer as outlined in the training process. This role will partner and align with the overall technical training strategy for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Read electrical and process schematics to troubleshoot equipment
- Train team members on performing repairs to production equipment and plant utility systems and ensuring proper electrical/mechanical operation
- Operate/troubleshoot/maintain high-speed packaging, processing, filling equipment and utilities
- Conduct and/or coordinate OJT for Maintenance team members new to the function/role or for periodic assessments of ongoing skills and demonstrated competency
- Provide SME insight in the development of training materials (classroom presentations, computer-based trainings, assessments)
- Provide SME insight and support in updates to 1PL’s, job plans, etc., as periodic reviews occur
- Evaluate Maintenance Standard Work (MSW) to ensure accuracy and adherence by area team members
- Perform and/or coordinate periodic assessments against OSW for consistency and gap identification
- Develop and update Maintenance Standard Work (MSW) based upon direction from local SME’s, Engineering personnel, and OEM technical manuals
- Oversee the OJT scheduling process and partners with site Technical Training Specialist to monitor and track department training activities by area of support (OJT schedule adherence, cross-training, rotations)
- Provide support for the Certified Job Trainers/Learning Mentors
- Assist in the development (as an area/task SME) and completion of annual and requested training for area personnel
- Provide daily guidance and direction to personnel in training on task assignments and expectations
- Partner in the development of cross-training matrices for Maintenance functions and determine gaps / necessary steps to build departmental flexibility and competency
- Address new team member concerns related to their OJT training and tools
- Ensure that the site training tools and processes are followed and adhered to by site personnel
- Ensure periodic learning assessments on critical tasks are complete and documented with any action items outlined for gaps
- Ensure new team members are knowledgeable and capable of adhering to all safety and GMP requirements applicable to tasks being performed
- Be flexible in work schedule to accommodate training needs of a multi-shift operation, initiating a routine presence on off-shifts
Qualifications
- HSD/GED
- 5 Years Controls/Electrician experience with Rockwell, PLC, Troubleshooting, etc.
- Knowledge of supporting operations and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical equipment malfunctions and repairs
- Capable of wiring and replacing electric motors
- Comfortable working around voltages up to 480VAC
- Proficient in performing repairs to production equipment and plant utility systems
