Maintenance Tech Training Program Manager

In this role, you'll lead the design of Publix's technical training programs, building scalable learning programs that support industrial maintenance, retail refrigeration systems, and retail equipment service across our expanding operations. This position impacts Publix by ensuring technicians at all levels are equipped with the skills needed to operate safely, efficiently, and effectively. The increase in technical talent and the results of these training programs help fulfill Publix's business objectives to build an internal technician pipeline, support business growth, and foster a confident, capable team prepared to meet evolving demands.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, maintaining, and producing technical training curricula, materials and solutions that build associate capability and confidence to perform their roles effectively while meeting both learning and business objectives.
- Delivering technical training to technicians using effective instructional strategies and facilitation techniques that promote engagement, knowledge transfer, and skill application ensuring associates can perform their responsibilities safely and effectively while supporting operational and business objectives.
- Measuring the success of training programs and making recommendations for improvements.
- Maintaining and continually enhancing technical subject matter expertise and instructional capability to ensure training relevance, quality, and alignment with evolving industry and business needs.
- Managerial/Supervisory Functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an educational or engineering field or equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
- 3 years of experience in a maintenance related field
- 2 years of experience in analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training related programs experience
- Be at least 20 years old with a valid driver's license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)
- Knowledge of training delivery processes and standards (including adult learning methodologies and techniques)
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry standards, State Safety Statues, local municipal regulations
- Knowledge of maintenance practices and disciplines of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles, theories, and operations

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an educational or engineering field
- 5 years of professional experience designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training tools and programs
- 2 years of experience managing a training program in a retail, food service, or industrial/retail environment
- EPA Universal Certification
- Knowledge of Publix's internal safety policies and procedures (on the job training and/or prior experience)
- Basic skills with Microsoft Access
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Experience with Emerson Ultrasite Connect + or similar refrigeration controller software

Pay
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
