About the role
The position involves performing various maintenance tasks, including preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in a high-volume, continuous-run work environment. Duties also include setting up and operating tools, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and ensuring all maintenance shop equipment and facilities are maintained at peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety work procedures and safe work practices at all times
- Perform facility/safety preventive maintenance
- Assist other Maintenance Personnel with predictive, preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and installations
- Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, and clean-up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks
- Ensure all maintenance shop equipment and facility are maintained at peak performance enabling superior production results
- Attend meetings, participate in problem solving, and complete assigned training
- Record actions including repairs, parts movement, and time electronically
- Work independently, as well as in a team environment, solving problems
- Be flexible and committed to working safely
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and experience in general machine and fitting shop practice, welding, maintenance troubleshooting, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and pipefitting
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform calculations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, dial indicators, pi tapes, and manometers
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

- Must be able to bend, turn, twist and stand for extended periods of time

Skills
- Experience in setup and operation of tools (both hand and power)
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems
- Experience in pipefitting

Schedule

Pay
$25.53 - $36.90 per hour, dependent on skillset and knowledge/experience
