About the role
Edgewood Properties, founded in 1992, is a leading real estate development and property management company headquartered in New Jersey. The company aims to expand its portfolio, which currently includes 6,000 plus units, to over 12,000 units within the next five years through ongoing construction and development plans.
Responsibilities
- Execute maintenance tasks, including diagnosing problems and making repairs to ensure the physical condition of the community meets operating and safety standards.
- Maintain vacant apartment homes in a timely manner to ensure they are rent-ready.
- Perform turnkey work as required.
- Organize and prioritize service requests and general maintenance tasks.
- Inspect community’s grounds and buildings on a daily basis to identify maintenance needs.
- Respond to resident requests and work with residents to resolve problems and complaints.
- Follow up to ensure issues are resolved.
- Train and promote safe work practices among on-site staff.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, particularly Fair Housing regulations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of industry experience.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- Valid Asbestos abatement certification (where applicable).
- Valid Type I and Type II technician certification from an EPA-approved technician certification program.
- Lift certification within 6 months of hire date.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Real Page / other program experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to read and write English.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Operate general office equipment.
- Use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
- Transport up to 60 pounds variable distances.
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
- Drive motorized vehicles.
- Operate hand tools, pressure washers, blowers, paint equipment, pool chemicals, ice removal equipment, ladders, landscaping equipment, sandblasters, and safety equipment.
- Model and demonstrate the behaviors listed on the Maintenance Management Core Competencies.
