Summary Of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Completes preventive maintenance requests for OEM equipment and addresses immediate operational and safety concerns.
• Works with OEM manufacturers on production equipment such as lasers, plasma/flame, press brakes, CNC Mill, and fork trucks up to 45,000# capacity.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and troubleshooting with OEM manufacturers.
• Controls downtime by informing the production scheduler of preventive maintenance performed by OEM manufacturers or internal maintenance.
• Fabricates repair parts using internal engineering and company equipment and maintains spare parts inventory provided by OEM.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance information, including work order requests, and documents in company maintenance software.
• Maintains technical knowledge through educational workshops and networking with equipment and parts suppliers.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team efforts by exchanging skills and knowledge with other company employees.

Qualifications

• High school degree and technical background required, trade/vocational school preferred.
• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience required, with an agricultural and/or automotive background a plus.
• Strong background in electrical systems (including wiring schematics), hydraulics, air brakes and diesel engines as well as transmissions and clutches.
• Great communication skills, ability to work well with others, and exchange skills and knowledge with other company employees.
• Able to work without direct supervision, with a Class A CDL preferred and service shop experience preferred.
• Able to lift heavy mechanical components and work outside in all types of weather.
• Demonstrated reliable work history and ability to work independently.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
