Maintenance Support
About the role
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and homelike environment for individuals in our community programs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and homelike environment for individuals in our community programs.
- Perform all elements of household maintenance, including patching, painting, plumbing, appliance repair, carpentry, tiling, electric and general HVAC, as well as snow removal, and grounds work as needed.
- Work in variety of different settings throughout our community group homes.
- Remain on-call (rotating) for emergencies.
- Complete assigned jobs within a reasonable amount of time.
- Aid others in performing various duties.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- Perform maintenance services for our group homes located throughout Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia, and Westchester counties.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required. Waived if candidate can demonstrate five (5) years experience in building maintenance, in an institutional setting.
- One year of maintenance experience required. Some knowledge in carpentry, electrical or plumbing required.

Pay
(commensurate with education and experience)
- With HS Diploma/GED - $21.00 - $22.47 per hour
- With BA/BS - $22.00 - $23.54 per hour
- With MA/MS or higher - $23.00 - $24.61 per hour
Schedule
Flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the individual and the community programs.
Skills
Knowledge in carpentry, electrical or plumbing is preferred.
