About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and is based in Springdale, Arkansas. This role leads, motivates, and develops the maintenance team to meet equipment repair and preventative maintenance goals while improving individual skills, enhancing teamwork, and driving a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide clear direction to team members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and regular one-on-one sessions to ensure communication, provide feedback, and address performance issues.
- Identify team members' strengths and weaknesses to inspire peak performance.
- Maintain production, supporting, and building equipment in satisfactory condition with minimal production downtime.
- Plan, prioritize, and assign work orders to align with production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Consult with Maintenance staff, QA Manager, and Production Manager on equipment modifications or replacements to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance for electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Manage the maintenance work order program, including assignment, completion, scheduling, and cost balance.
- Serve as a backup for maintenance staff and audit the preventative maintenance program.
- Drive continuous improvement in the preventative maintenance program.
- Make decisions to maintain equipment efficiency and support department spending costs.
- Manage the parts room to improve processes.
- Lead staff professionally, including yearly evaluations, attendance tracking, vacation scheduling, and disciplinary reviews.
- Lead and support a food safety and food quality culture within the location.
- Establish, document, and communicate food safety and quality objectives and performance measures.
- Empower employees to resolve food safety and quality issues within their scope of work.
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the food safety and quality culture.
- Communicate key performance indicators and objectives to employees.
- Ensure adequate staffing and resources to meet objectives.
- Educate staff on the importance of food safety, quality controls, and deviation consequences.
- Accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for the position.
- Notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.
- Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for the position.
- Work with supervision to resolve food safety and quality issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage 9 employees, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment while providing personal growth opportunities.
- Communicate job expectations, monitor and assess job results, and provide coaching and counseling.
- Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Establish strategic goals, evaluate trends, define objectives, and assess outcomes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or higher.
- Minimum 5 years of direct supervisory/leadership experience (influencing, coaching, managing diverse teams).
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience with progressive responsibility.
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs and basic programming.
- Proven track record in continuous improvement and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal customers.
- Team builder and player (player/coach principle).
- Effective communication (written, verbal, and presentation) at all business levels.
- Familiarity with Maintenance Reliability and Continuous Improvement tools/techniques.
- Experience with CMMS software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
- Ability to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean, 6 Sigma, or other Quality Management Skills.
- Basic understanding of Vibration, Infrared, MLT, Ultrasonic, and Motor Circuit evaluation.
- Experience in report writing.
- Consultative, influential, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Frequent: Talking, hearing, standing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 75 pounds, operating machinery/equipment, and manual/electronic tools. Exposure to wet/humid conditions and temperature fluctuations.
- Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above/at shoulder height, wearing a dust mask, confined entry using LOTO program, and exposure to toxic/corrosive chemicals.
- Vision: Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision (with or without correction) to detect obstacles and dangers in a fast-paced production environment.
- Hearing: Normal audio range (with or without correction) with exposure to noise from pumps, machinery, forklifts, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.

Pay
- Sign-On Bonus: $1,000, payable after 90 days of continuous employment.
- Retention Bonuses: Two $500 bonuses at 6 months and 1 year of employment (contingent on active employment and good standing).
- Annual Merit Increases: Eligible for yearly performance-based pay increases.
All bonuses are subject to applicable federal and state tax withholdings.
