The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance of the cement plant and Quarry in accordance with established procedures and schedules. This position requires approximately 20% hands-on fieldwork and 80% office work and works at the close direction of the Plant Superintendent.

Pay
$130k–$160k, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all maintenance activities in the Plant and Quarry, including mobile equipment
- Organize and oversee all preventative maintenance work as well as emergency repairs to equipment
- Supervise the planner, maintenance engineer, electrical, mechanical, and automation supervisors
- Stay within budgets set by the Plant Superintendent
- Assist Plant Superintendent in Kiln reline organization, planning, and execution
- Develop and implement successful training programs for plant personnel
- Work with the Engineering department on specifications and development of CAPEX projects
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local labor, safety, and environmental regulations
- Improve machinery reliability
- Handle maintenance planning, daily and yearly outages, and predictive maintenance
- Manage spare parts
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule required work
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces, weld, cut, lift over 50 lbs., and climb to elevations of 100 ft.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment (forklift, manlift, front-end loader, boom truck, crane)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid mechanical and control system skills with the ability to train others
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
Conditions of Employment
- Successful candidate must pass a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
- Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing
