Responsibilities
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on building HVAC systems and controls.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to ensure facility reliability.
- Lead or support small facility modification projects, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical scope, as qualified.
- Interpret schematics, drawings, and technical manuals to execute maintenance and repair tasks accurately.
- Oversee shop operations, including maintaining laboratories and facilities in compliance with applicable codes.
- Support general facilities maintenance activities, including mechanical system upkeep, equipment relocation, and grounds support.
- Operate forklifts, lifts, and other maintenance equipment as needed.
- Occasional off-hours or weekend coverage may be required to support operational needs.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience (a degree may substitute for experience).
- EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification preferred; if not certified, must be willing and able to obtain certification.
- Demonstrated skill in HVAC commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in HVAC, controls, electrical, or a related field.
- Journeyman, Master, or Contractor HVAC license.
- Experience working in radiological, laboratory, or chemical handling environments.
- Proficiency with Building Automation Systems (BAS/EMS).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and project management software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Active DOE or DOD security clearance is a plus.

Pay
The starting hourly rate for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $25.96 and $39.42 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify the hourly rate (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation, or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or applicable department/team performance, and other market factors.
