Responsibilities
- Install and repair fences to specification including welding, gate construction, concrete work, setting posts and installing hardware.
- Fabricate and repair various types of window guards and handrails.
- Estimate materials and procure the proper materials and supplies for completion of the work order.
- Maintain accurate records for labor, materials, work order completion and other Maintenance records.
- Identify and resolve various maintenance repair problems related to the fence craft.
- Operate hand/power tools and equipment required in the craft, using good safety practices.
- Maintain tools, equipment and supplies assigned.
- Demonstrate initiative in relation to the position, including job planning through job completion.
- Provide effective communication with Principals, Department Heads and others in scheduling various maintenance repairs.
- Report maintenance problems that are observed which may or may not be covered by the craft.
- Operate all equipment required to Powder Coat various items.
Requirements
- Required High School Diploma or GED.
- Required Valid Texas Driver’s License and a record that meets the Districts standard.
- Required 3-5 direct years of experience in related craft.
- Demonstrated ability to set string line, mix and pour concrete, set comer posts, lace and stretch fence wire to various types of fences.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge, skills and ability to weld and build gates, install brace, tension bars, security fences and install fencing hardware.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge to read blueprints.
- Extensive knowledge of form setting, pouring, and finishing concrete.
- Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
- Ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.
