Full-Time; Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm with On Call every 6th Week

Texas Health Denton is a 255-bed, full-service hospital providing care to people across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1987. Texas Health Denton is a Joint Commission-accredited Primary (Level II) Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center, a Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, and a Magnet® designated hospital. Our four-story specialty center for women and infants features 12 labor and delivery beds, 2 C-section suites, 6 antepartum, and 24 postpartum beds. Texas Health Denton is the city’s only provider of obstetrical and neonatal intensive care services and the largest provider of obstetrical services in Denton County.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
  • Specialized training in mechanic trades or a related field preferred. Individuals hired into the position prior to January 1, 2003, will be grandfathered with existing education.
  • 3 years in a commercial or industrial environment and licensed as an electrician, plumber, or industrial maintenance mechanic certification (Required) or 7 years in a commercial or industrial environment without licensed certification (Required).
  • 1 year healthcare environment (Preferred).
  • HVAC and/or electrical experience (Preferred).
  • Driver’s License upon hire (Required).
  • Electrician, Plumber, or Other Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Certification upon hire (Required).

Skills

  • Proficient in the use of computerized systems for all aspects of job performance.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised and in teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and specialized building repair and maintenance support for the hospital, hospital equipment, and hospital properties utilizing the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Identify and correct problems in mechanical systems (pumps, belt drivers, gear reduction drives, piping, valve diagnosis and replacement), plumbing systems (installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for waste water distribution and waste water disposal), electrical systems (install, test, maintain, and diagnose electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures, components, and systems), and control systems (sensors, limit switches, solenoids, motors).
  • Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff in the repair and operation of facility equipment, components, utilities, and the like.
  • Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, educational opportunities, and related training.
  • Attend 90% of staff meetings and training; required training shall be completed on time.
