Job Summary
About the role
The job involves performing intermediate skilled work on various construction, maintenance, and repair projects. Operates specialized equipment and performs minor repairs like painting, drywall patching, and fixing doors.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
- Identifies issues requiring specialized technicians and performs minor repairs like painting, drywall patching, and fixing doors
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs
- Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manuals as needed
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, such as repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures
- Performs routine maintenance on building and infrastructure systems
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities and amenities
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
- Completes repairs on equipment
- Inspects building to confirm safety standards and schedules major repairs with internal customers
- Identifies the root cause of a mechanical problem and comes up with a solution
Requirements
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 0 to 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Possess an aptitude and willingness to learn
Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations to avoid hazards and injuries
- A broad knowledge of technical skills can help diagnose and fix problems with machinery
