MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST -

Compensation for this role is based on experience, education, and other business considerations. Shift differentials: 17% for Weekday Nights, 26% for Weekend Nights, and 15% for Weekend Days.

About the role

Entry-level position within the maintenance specialist series. Perform a variety of standard facility and ground maintenance duties, including carpentry and electrical repairs. May support and interact with other department personnel. No patient care assignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of standard facility and ground maintenance duties in assigned areas, such as replacing light bulbs, electrical outlets, switch covers, and related items.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair or adjust thermostats and facility systems as required; request qualified personnel for repairs when appropriate.
• Participate in Fire-Brigade-Response Team and child abduction programs, including annual competency reviews, tests, and in-services.
• Assist other department personnel as needed.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of directly related experience.
• Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
• UNM Vehicle Operator’s Permit within 60 days of hire.

Physical Conditions

• Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
• Working conditions: Minor hazard—physical risks, dirt, dust, fumes, noise.
• Subject to random alcohol and substance testing.
• Tuberculosis testing completed upon hire and as required thereafter.
