About the role
The Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Roche's Global Supply Chain by ensuring the reliability and performance of equipment used within the Hub Operations Americas group in Indianapolis.
Responsibilities
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to detailed procedures and schedules.
- Perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment, used within warehousing areas.
- Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings.
- Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts & rebuild equipment as required.
- Perform equipment modifications including installation, validation support and start-up of new equipment, as well as decommissioning activities as directed by engineers.
- Apply advanced knowledge and skills to complete assignments requiring judgment and initiative.
- Understand the implications of work and make recommendations for solutions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- 2+ years of related experience in maintenance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree, journeyman’s card or equivalent military training related to maintenance of equipment in an industrial setting.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical support and maintenance roles.
- Preferred credentials: CMRT, CRL, CMRP, etc.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Preferred experience: familiar with conveyor systems and other equipment used within warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues, using diagnostic tools, and interpreting equipment manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, spare parts management, and relevant safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing circumstances.
