Maintenance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Performs expert-level break-fix and preventive maintenance, as well as design improvements for mechanical, electrical, and complex systems based on job specialty.
• Provides troubleshooting support for equipment and technical support for production lines as required by job specialty.
• Maintains in-depth technical knowledge of multiple systems and performs research and procedures specific to the role.
• Programs, troubleshoots, and analyzes complex control systems to resolve software, hardware, and configuration issues.
• Utilizes predictive maintenance tools and interprets results, including infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, and vibration analysis.
• Leads and participates in continuous improvement (CI) activities, driving process improvements, results, and cost savings using CI tools and methodologies.
• Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items; suggests alternative solutions to improve reliability.
• Independently performs maintenance according to industry standards and complies with 5S and housekeeping standards.
• May set up and operate machining operations (e.g., lathe, drill press, grinder) to fabricate or repair parts; may perform welding tasks.
• Studies and investigates technical methods, tools, and innovations to improve maintenance practices and updates documentation.
• Prepares input for cost analysis for new equipment, repair/rebuild proposals, and cost-saving innovations.
• Updates records, reviews CMMS history, and analyzes data.
• Provides technical content for sales quotations and performs time-and-materials (T&M) duties as required.
• Trains and coaches less experienced technicians; assumes project manager responsibilities as assigned.
• Completes on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
• Follows all safety policies, rules, regulations, and technical instructions; maintains situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Associate degree with a technical focus and 7 years of related industry experience, or 10 years of industry experience.
• Proficiency in predictive technologies, including vibration analysis, laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; ability to analyze problems, synthesize solutions, and perform repairs.
• Ability to use hand tools and specialized tools as required.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Six Sigma experience is desired.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance (including ladder use), stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces.
• Occasionally required to sit and lift/move objects over 50 pounds.
• Regularly uses close vision and color vision.
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
• Work is typically performed in a loud factory environment with exposure to hazardous materials, greasy/slippery floors, and other industrial conditions.

Pay

Pay range: $93,609.08 – $119,717.75 USD.
