About the role
This position plays a key role in coordinating and dispatching maintenance work orders for Christensen Farms' operational facilities. The Maintenance Scheduling Specialist manages the scheduling of emergency and short-term work orders (same-week execution), service request processing, and the creation and management of purchase orders to support efficient maintenance delivery. This role bridges operations and planning teams by responding quickly to urgent work needs and ensuring accurate communication and documentation of all maintenance activities in real time. It is critical in ensuring responsive and organized execution of urgent maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate, assign, and schedule all emergency and reactive maintenance work orders for execution within the same week.
- Serve as the primary dispatcher for internal and external maintenance teams addressing urgent service needs.
- Create, track, and manage service requests within the CMMS system to ensure accuracy and timely resolution.
- Generate and manage purchase orders for emergency repairs and service work, ensuring proper coding and approval flow.
- Communicate and coordinate with farm operations staff, technicians, and service providers to prioritize and align short-term work.
- Update and maintain real-time work order status in the CMMS, tracking progress and resolution.
- Coordinate with the Planning Team to hand off non-urgent work into longer-term planning pipeline.
- Ensure compliance with scheduling policies and support timely work completion and documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in dispatch, scheduling, coordination, or maintenance support roles.
- Experience with CMMS or work order systems preferred (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong communication skills with ability to respond quickly and professionally under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization in a fast-paced, real-time work environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments and teams.
- Working knowledge of farm production or agricultural maintenance operations is a plus.
