Maintenance Repair Worker 2

About the role

As a Maintenance Repair Worker 2, you will perform maintenance, replacement, installation and repair of electrical and plumbing equipment; carpentry work involving maintenance, alteration and/or repair of buildings, equipment and wood structures; basic painting; operate state vehicles to transport equipment, tools, parts, materials and supplies; perform minor custodial duties; perform general exterior grounds keeping duties; and perform minor maintenance on Division vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, replacement, installation and repair of electrical and plumbing equipment.
• Performs carpentry work involving maintenance, alteration and/or repair of buildings, equipment and wood structures.
• Performs basic painting.
• Operates state vehicle to transport various equipment, tools, parts, materials and supplies to various locations throughout the state or to transport vehicle to dealership for service or repair.
• Performs minor custodial duties.
• Performs general exterior grounds keeping duties.
• Performs minor maintenance on Division vehicles.

Requirements

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction and in reading, writing and speaking common English vocabulary.
• Six months of training or six months of experience in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair and use of associated hand and power tools and equipment).
• Valid commercial driver’s license required if motor equipment is of type and size regulated by sections 4506.01 and 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.

Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.

• Requires valid driver license to operate state vehicle.

Pay

$21.48 per hour

Full-time, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm
