Job Duties
- Effectively assigns daily maintenance resources to maintain plant and minimize downtime, ensuring completion of all planned work with minimal overtime or rework and in full compliance with all regulations.
- Manages maintenance team performance through performance reviews (PMP) and regular feedback/communication to maximize effectiveness and create a positive environment; ensures team receives training and development in key areas.
- Partners with Operations and Process Technical Departments to ensure plant priorities are met, respecting the budget and production planning.
- Evaluates multiple scenarios to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
- Provides technical support for specification, identification, and purchasing of needed parts and work packages.
- Manages contractor program to ensure safety and work performed meets requirements of plant policies.
- Manages all maintenance capital project activity according to the Arkema Stage-Gate process and ensures installations are in compliance with applicable codes.
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance procedures; ensures MI and PM standards and procedures are followed. Ensures repair procedures, and equipment specific training are documented and followed.
- Oversees plant reliability for long-term production optimization while continuously reducing cost through improved equipment operation, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Keeps VIS analysis of building equipment and utilities up to date, focusing on impact of failure (risk ranking) and mitigation strategy (information on spare part availability).
- Abides by terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and properly responds to grievances.
- Participates in Management of Change process; ensures NOC and PSSR compliance.

Qualifications & Competencies
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in plant maintenance and reliability management, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, or hazardous materials industries, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; Master degree preferred.
- Six sigma certification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma Operational Excellence implementation preferred.
- Mechanical Integrity inspector certification highly desired.
- Excellent communications, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Project management skills - Stage Gate Project Development process.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical integrity and reliability.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams and high-hazard maintenance activities.
- Advanced MS Office Skills; SAP experience desired.
