About the role

Our client in the tissue and paper manufacturing industry is looking for a Maintenance & Reliability Manager to serve as the primary technical leader for their manufacturing operation. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of all production equipment and facility systems. This role leads maintenance personnel while driving preventative maintenance strategies, equipment reliability initiatives, capital projects, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts.

The job type is Full-Time, with an expected start date of ASAP and occasional travel for new equipment training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage maintenance technicians, electricians, and maintenance-related projects
  • Establish performance expectations; coach, train, and provide development opportunities
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Manage and continuously improve preventive/predictive maintenance programs
  • Use root cause analysis methods to analyze equipment failure and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain maintenance best practices, critical parts inventory, and promote standardization
  • Serve as the primary troubleshooting resource for mechanical, electrical, and controls issues
  • Troubleshoot AC and DC drive systems, automation control systems, and mechanical equipment
  • Lead capital and continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Coordinate design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup activities
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while minimizing impact on production schedules
  • Work with operations leadership to identify equipment upgrade/process improvement needs
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Support implementation of TPM principles, increase efficiency, and reduce waste
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory and safety requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years manufacturing, engineering, or reliability experience required
  • Previous management experience or desire to lead others required
  • Demonstrated process improvement outcomes required
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical, automation, and mechanical systems required
  • ERP, CMMS, or similar maintenance management systems experience required
