Maintenance Project Engineer
About the role
The Maintenance Project Engineer manages maintenance activities and supports the fleet's maintenance needs. Key responsibilities include overseeing maintenance projects, coordinating with contractors, preparing project scopes, and managing resources.
Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned projects and provide oversight
- Coordinate work with outside contractors and engineers
- Develop work scopes, request proposals, and prepare purchase orders
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and purchase documents
- Review and handle drawings and submittals
- Support Engineering and Maintenance Departments in executing major and minor capital improvement projects
- Develop and execute 5-year maintenance plans and budgets
- Anticipate and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Assist with CMMS program updates and training activities
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Five years of experience in the power generation industry with at least three years of project management experience, preferably in an incineration plant environment
- Strong knowledge of steam turbine-generator operations and maintenance practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and familiarity with CMMS programs
- Maintain all necessary licenses as per local, state, federal, environmental, and health/safety regulations
Qualifications
- Experience in a noisy work environment
- Physical demands: stand, sit, walk, handle tools, fine motor skills, reach, climb, bend, push, pull, crawl, ascend/descend stairs, and use various types of personal protective equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
Skills
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Suite
- Familiarity with CMMS programs
- Ability to anticipate and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Effective communication and training abilities
